All about Mia

Here is a few tidbits about my 4 1/2 month old sweety!

March 7th she weighed in at 13 pounds 2 ounces putting her at the 50th percentile in weight (woohoo holding tight at our biggest baby yet!)
She measured in at 23.3 inches long--between 25-50th percentile on height --on account that it is hard to make that measurement 100% accurate!

This was taken to show her band aids, poor little thing! You would think that going through another round of shots on my third child would get easier...nope! I teared up. I know her cries well enough to know when she is truly in pain, and let me tell you, she was in pain. I got her calmed down quickly though and she was just fine after that..what a trooper!

Milestones reached:

She used to reach both hands out in front of her and meet her hands together, then bring them down to her mouth, now she just goes straight for the object, your face, the toy, you name it, she's got it in her sight and she goes straight for it and aims for her mouth!

She does laugh, she makes us really work for it though! It is more like a little grunt but still so funny to hear. Mostly though she just smiles big or just looks at us like, "umm...what is wrong with you?"

She has figured out who her mom is and that she doesn't like to be held by anyone other than mom for more time than she wants to. As long as things are on her terms she is a very pleasant little baby! She does however, seem to have a very sweet and easy going disposition, active, but still can chill for awhile, and doesn't mind just sitting back and watching!

She has really taken a liking to her big bro and sis! Luke likes to make sure he is RIGHT in front of her face so she sees him, but she just watches him and smiles, with her arms and legs going as well! She does let Mckenna hold her for quite awhile and will just smile away for both of them. Daddy has been very busy lately and hasn't gotten a whole lot of face time with her, but she still gives him big smiles when he comes home from work!

Yikes...lots to read, very little pictures, sorry, been a bit busy and just can't seem to get to the camera when I really need it!

I did it!!!

This is the best way I could think to explain how I feel right about now. I made it through spring break relatively sane! Now, just surviving a week of keeping my kids happy is a lot, but then what I did that was as extraordinary as Rocky in this picture, is that I watched 3 extra kids on wednesday and thursday (2 of which were girls Mckenna's age.) I was very happy to watch our friends' kids while they were in Georgia looking for a house. They had the whole week to look and take care of their business, and while we are VERY sad that yet another one of our good friends are leaving us for bigger, greener pastures, we were happy to help them get things worked out for their move! Then the next night I (in sheer delirium I'm sure, hence, the picture of Luke and his hat) volunteered my house for another sleep over with Kara, Mckenna's cousin and Mckenna's little friend Kayla, of whom share a "friendship" together. As if we didn't get any sleep on wednesday night, a little bit of a catch up on thursday night, we did even worse by getting to bed at 1:00 a.m. along with a game of musical beds with all the kids and then a matinée feature of High School Musical 2 at 5 a.m. Yep, lots of fun! Then in what is still shocking to even me, was that I took all of those girls plus of course little Lukey and Mia to the George Bush Library for the annual Easter Celebration for the egg hunt and games. We stayed for the egg hunt and long enough to score a grab bag and then we headed out. Why so early you ask? Well, for starters I was by myself because Jonny was playing Rambo in the wilderness with the scouts, which left me alone most of the day on thursday and through saturday afternoon. And then the other reason for skipping out so quickly was that my poor heart just couldn't take loosing one of them more than the 3 times that I did. Believe me, it is not easy finding children in a humongous group of kids the same age and height, with at least 2 adults to every one child. I mean see... I don't even know who I am taking a picture of here...

Yeah, I lost each of the kids (minus of course Mia; okay and Lukey--I had a death grip on his hand) at least once. Yeah, I thought the girls' parents would want them back! I realized after finding them after the third time that I was waaay in over my head and humbly bowed out of what I thought I was woman enough to handle. I do know my limits! Why I even went in the first place is beyond me, I DON'T do things like that flying solo. But I did recover them all and so I guess it could have been worse right?

Yeah, so my house could very easily be declared to be in a state of emergency considering the floor is lost beneath pretty much all of our whole wardrobe's not to mention a layer of crumbs and dirt and stuff. Anytime I tried to let the kids just go it alone while I tried to get something done, things just seemed to fall apart. So needless to say, we spent a lot of time at the park, in the back yard, at McDonald's, lots of coloring, wii playing, playing board games, and tons of eating/snacking. Whoosh, that was a lot for our laid back, easy going life style! I get exhausted even thinking about it!

Best Buddies

In typical Rhiannon fashion I missed an all day opportunity to get a picture of two of the cutest little dudes in the world!!! We had the opportunity to watch Luke's new "bestest buddies" (his words to be exact) while his mom was out of town. They played and played and played and played all day long. Let me just tell you, that was one tired little boy! They are soooooo so cute because they share the same mannerisms, same interests, same boy language if you will, and pretty much same sense of humor. They are soo cute, did I mention that already? They played Jedi's in one form or another all. day. long. Whether it was light saber combat with each other, getting the bad dudes as a team, fighting the good dudes as a team, playing with Luke's little galactic action figures, or his star wars transformers they did it all and were content the whole day. I love seeing his toys get used like that. Those boys, man I just can't get over how much fun I had watching them be boys. Oh and did I mention how cute they were yet? Okay, do you get the feeling that I am smitten over my son? I'd have to say you were right! And you might also get the impression that Luke is a little on the spoiled side if he has all those Jedi options, well, yeah, you might be right. But hey, at least he plays with them all, I don't feel so bad about the volume of toys if they all get their fair share of playing with. Sorry for the no picture thing, I truly messed up, considering that I have been looking forward to posting about this all week. Yep pitiful I know!! What else would you expect out of me anyways!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay I think I feel a bit better now! I love being a mom, but seriously, sometimes they make me want to scream, hence, the this post!! Mckenna and I had a rough morning and I just needed to scream and let all that penned up emotion out. Today though was the straw that broke the camel's back, I called and am seeking professional help as how to deal with her and maybe help her to deal with things better. I won't bore anyone with more details than that, but I finally did what I have been saying I should do for a long time now. Part of being a parent is having days like this and I accept that but am ready to stop beating my head into the wall. So I hope ya'll have a better day than mine! Thanks for reading!!

Mia eating dinner with the fam...(not what you might think!)

To view simply tilt your head to the left (don't worry it won't hurt, it isn't that long of a clip!) Oh and if you want to hear our goofy babble turn my tunes off and if you don't want to hear our parental chatter then turn your sound down...either way....ENJOY!!!!

My girls...

I was soooo excited to be able to find matching dresses for my girls that I had to post a picture of them. I love having girls to dress up. The drama I could probably do without... most days!!! I guess though I am still gratefull for what God has given us, DRAMA and all!!!BTW notice Mckenna's hair...we got it all chopped off and it looks really cute on her!

Our weekend...

We had a very fun and eventful weekend. On friday night we went bowling with some friends of ours. It was great fun, the kids did good. Luke really put some speed on his ball, I think it clocked his ball going about .5 mph!! Yeah I know that is real speed!! With that type of speed his balls just flew past the pins, I think he scored like 34!! Mckenna actually did pretty good, I don't recall her score but it was higher than Luke's! Saturday we decided last minute to make a trip to Galveston to play on the beach and make some sand castles. We had a nice ride in the "Shuttle" as Jonny calls it. It was very nice to have all the space and lush amenities!! We had all the Gibson kids there and they all had a blast. Okay minus maybe Avery and Luke who got wet waaay to early in the event and were freezing after that. I'm not even sure I had time to get a picture of Luke actually enjoying the beach, just of him freezing at the beach!! All in all it was a really fun weekend, especially nice to get away and not have to clean house or do yard work like we should have!!Just kidding I have ONE picture of Luke enjoying himself!
I thought my camera was broke after taking this one of Jeff, luckily I think Tyler's cuteness trumped Jeff's ugliness!!

This is Jonny carrying Luke back to the car because he was freeeezing!

Mckenna just ran and ran and ran, as you can tell all that "wave jumping" got her a little wet!!!

We had a great time and are sooooo thankful to have all the cousins so close to be able to enjoy and impromptu day at the beach!!! We are very blessed!
