Easter Smeaster.
I would say that this was the best Easter ever but I would be lying. Sounds pretty harsh huh? Well, lets just say we slept right through this one! Let me explain. Friday, Good Friday to be exact, we mowed the yard. Fun stuff, that night I didn't feel good. Saturday came around and we had a carnival up at the church. That, I have to say was quite impressive for a Mormon carnival. We had lots of blow up thingies, a bouncy thing, a slide, and a bungee cord running thingy. (Those are the technical terms of course) so that was fun, I schooled all the teenagers at musical chairs, came home with a cake from the cake walk, and Luke and Mckenna had brought some of their snow cones home on their faces and clothes. Okay so that was fun. Then we get home and realize, "Hmm, I guess sunscreen would have been a good idea." Jonny's face was quite lobsterish, you could tell I was wearing sunglasses, a short sleeve scoop neck shirt, and my hair up. And yes, I still hurt. Mia was in her sling because I couldn't figure out how to uncollapse my double stroller. Yeah, picture that scene! So you could also tell how Mia was in her sling. Yep, I burned my baby, seriously duh!?! Nice, so I felt like real winner after that. Then that night of course was the Aggie basketball game. It was hard fought and very sad ending to a descent season with our new head coach. We couldn't be anything but sad that we were out that night. Jonny went into depression about then, which could really explain the next day. We made it to 'The Ville' aka Huntsville for church (10-15 minutes late of course, I swear we will be late to our own funerals!) Poor little Mia was not having a good day, she was tired and just not feeling on top of her game. Needless to say she was not very reverent during church! Then we get home and I didn't see my husband until it was time to leave later that evening. He was sleeping because he was sick. Yep sick, or maybe now that I think of it just depressed. Hmmm...so yeah fun, lots of fun. Okay it was kinda fun being with the fam despite the sickos that we brought over. Anyways, got home got everyone to bed and again didn't see my husband until Tuesday actually. He stayed home from work on Monday and slept off his sickness. Mia all the while had a decline in her condition as well. Poor thing, I felt so bad for her, just nothing that we could do, but just love on her as much as she needed. So yeah, the house fell apart through all of this b/c I tried to be as quiet as possible for the two sleeping beauties in the house. So today I slowly etched away at mount Gibson, and unburied the kitchen counters, floors are still unseen. All doing this on a minimal amount of sleep b/c Mia did NOT sleep good last night, we took a steamy bath at 5:00 a.m. that may not be entirely to early for some of you but believe me it was waaay to early for me. It did help though. And today I did get some smiles and a couple little giggles so I do believe we might be turning the corner with her. The reason: calling the doctor to make an appointment. Yep, cures them every time! I swear that we never make it to the doctor sick. Okay, okay, the silver lining through all of this? I got my game on last night while playing on our city league volleyball team. Oh yeah, back on the court again, and still walking today I might add. And...to top that off I even got complimented on my play making by a couple of college athletes that are on our team. Oh yeah, my game ain't totally gone!! Then I just remembered why we kinda let Easter sneak up on us, Luke started the week off right by having pink eye and passing it onto Mia and us being paranoid of spreading it any further. Which meant, I didn't get to do any Easter shopping until the last minute, at walmart I might add, big mistake, the whole town was there shopping. Oh and we didn't get to do our annual Easter egg coloring fest because well, we were too sick and tired. So this year we did a reverse Easter and colored and hid the eggs on the Monday after Easter. Hey, at least we got it in right? So all in all these last few weeks, heck the whole stinking month of march has not been great, or overly pleasant to say the least. Let's just hope April brings us better fortune! But hey, all wasn't lost I got to play volleyball.
