So it's not the best picture! It was parked in the garage at night-- so that's as good as it gets! It is silver, but a browny silver. We got it this weekend and I love it. Jonny actually loves it too! I'd say it takes a real man to drive one of these Dave! It is so nice to have the room to fit all your kids plus some groceries and then some! My poor Mother though, she had always driven 2 door vehicles up until about what? 10 years ago? She bought her first 4 door vehicle and I remember her calling me and asking if a Dodge Durango would be okay to have because it had 4 doors. So when I had mentioned that I wanted an odyssey I thought she would have a heart attack. I gave her at least a year and a half, maybe even more to get used to the fact that her daughter wanted a minivan. She can now visit and not be stuck in the trunk of the car-- we have a seat in the car for her now! I would like to report that she didn't go into cardiac arrest and may actually ride in my vehicle, paper bag included, I will even cut eyeholes in it!! I have been talking about this odyssey for such a long time, I've done lots of looking and lots of research on them. I had a picture of one hanging on my fridge for maybe even a year just to get Jonny used to seeing one around! We got rid of the poor Xterra, it was a good vehicle, a little heavy on the gas consumption, but I did like it, although probably won't miss it too much!
Quick Story for you: Poor Jonny already having to get used to the fact that the family ride is a shuttle (as he calls it) and not the rugged SUV that it once was. So we were driving home from Houston on Friday night after we got it. We pulled up to a Sonic at about 11:00 at night, we pulled into one of the stations and the girl taking the order said, "Mam would you please pull through the drive through?" Poor Jonny almost started to cry. His first ride in the minivan and he got called a woman!! What men don't drive these things? Well he made the mistake of telling a friend at church and well he told his wife and a few others and now the engineer formerly known as Jonny is now called Mam!!!

Hey Rhi,
Welcome to the Odyssey family. We've been thinking about an Odyssey since we drove to Utah in a four door station wagon in August. We got one of coarse b/c of the fact that we are going to be having baby #3 in July. We love it and Corey loves it too. Who would have thought that two nerds (Jonny and Corey) would love having a minivan. Corey calls it a bus just b/c it seems large but it definitely is roomy and a smooth drive. What year is your van? Where did you all get it from? It looks cool and I guess if we come to visit CS we'll have the same kind of car. I am like you, several years ago if you would have asked me if I wanted a van I would have said heck no. Of coarse it seems weird to be 29 and driving a minivan. Well, you'll have to tell me more about your van. Is it leather, etc???? Have a great day.
So, do you guys have one of those orange reflector triangle things now for when you pull the shuttle over or anything? Does it beep when in reverse? Does it come with a fire hydrant? Do the kids all RUN into it so they can call the seat that's on top of the back tires? Is there an intercom system?
Hey Sis,
The Odyssey looks great! I am looking forward to coming for a visit and not having to ride in the back of the Xterra. I know Jonny is getting really excited for me to come and watch NASCAR with him on the new TV too! Oh, BTW you forgot to mention his favorite websites too...www.chalkcreekboers.com and www.nascar.com!
Love Ya!
Wow, welcome to the world of mini-vans. It took me so long to get used to the idea, but it's soooo nice. Cash wanted one as soon as we were married?!?! See, you guys were always the "cool" ones with the rugged SUV ;)
It's beautiful and I hope you love it.
Yeah! We love our van...I guess, I should say mini, or a large passenger van comes to mind. I did tell David we can't have more than five kids. That would only result in a suburban or something similar...more than that, not cool, ever! I am so glad you have one. So, if Jonny is a Mam now, does that mean diapers and changing kiddos clothes are a must!?
We will have to rev up sometime and go Quest versus Odyssey! We'll let the guys do that. I will purchase some goggles and a scarf for the drivers!
